POET AND/THE BENCH
Join us for the launch of POET AND/THE BENCH, the new retail store we've opened in Mill Valley, Ca.

Poet and/the Bench is the workshop for Jeffrey's custom fine jewelry and the atelier for his jewelry collection, and soon to include other curated jewelry designers.

We're also featuring the following artist installations:

- Adele Crawford: BunnyDoggy (a larger than life representation of old childhood toys), The World is Flat (honoring tomes being rendered obsolete by technology and featuring details of maps of countries from a set of 1911 Encyclopedia Brittanica) and Stringing Words Together (gold boxes clustered in a random way using 100 year old dictionary pages, gold leaf and bookbinders thread)

- Lisa Joss: Encaustic Panels made of beeswax, tree resin and glass glitter on wood... the vast contrast between the organic and the synthetic. Layers of wax medium are poured, glitter is suspended in the top layers, other colors are added using a heat source to melt back the initial layer, playing with color, surface and texture to communicate a narrative

- Bob Dinetz: Wheel-Thrown Pottery, each numbered to indicate the pounds of clay used and the type of clay (from mix, mix with grog, recycled and soldate 60 to black mountain and porcelain) and happily, lack the industrial precision of machine-made ceramics

- Gallery for Good: An on-going initiative of donation-based tiny art with 100% of proceeds to charity. This first installation comes from our designer friends at Hatchsf.com

We're having an open house with other shops in the neighborhood as part of the first of many Mill Valley Design District events. Please join us to preview the latest in home decor, design and art from 7 on Locust and Elena Calabrese, Kress Jack Vintage and Unique Goods, Henrybuilt, Revelation and introducing Poet and/the Bench.

Celebrate our new digs, check out the amazing work we've selected to show for this first of many tasty events... and meet our talented neighbors!

Saturday Nov 14, 1-5pm, 10E Locust Ave, Mill Valley. Feel free to spread the word!

If you can't join us Saturday, we'll be officially opened on Friday November 20, 7 days a week through the holidays.

Cheers,

Jeffrey & Bonnie
