September 2012 | Zobha.com Launches Jeffrey Levin Jewelry

When two artists see eye to eye... Read Zobha founder, CEO and yoga instructor Jamie Hanna's post about finding a kindred spirit in the designer and artist, Jeffrey Levin.

"It takes courage for an artist to enter the creative space of another artist.  And even more so to attempt a collaboration.  But when the endeavor is inspired and the motive sincere, the result is art and the artists’ gift to one another is respect and admiration.  I know this to be true, because it happened when I met Jeffrey Levin: jeweler, kindred spirit and creator of the new Jeffrey Levin jewelry collection for Zobha

This past Spring, Jeffrey Levin (pronounced Le-veen) invited me to his home in Santa Monica to begin work on a small gift to myself: a bespoke set of stack rings.  After admiring his lovely home, we compared sketches and exchanged ideas.  The real work began, however, when Jeffrey brought out an exquisite antique chest of drawers.  When opened, it revealed rows of small compartments that held his jewelry making tools, as well as the precious metals and stones that he uses in his designs. It was a joy to touch and work with materials so very different from the ones that I use at Zobha.  As we worked, Jeffrey shared his personal story and how it has influenced his artistic journey." May 2012 | Accessorie Circuit NYC Wrap Up,
Jeffrey Levin – "Simultaneously minimalist and sensual"

Jeffrey Levin was chosen as one of the stand out accessory brands at the recent ENK Accessorie Circuit show. “There is an indescribable joy I feel when someone else sees the beauty and craft in my pieces and appreciates my hand work.” – Jeffrey

“Jeffery Levin’s mini-sized, sexy, badass jewelry collection is reminiscent of early Robert Lee Morris, circa 1996, on a smaller scale when RLM crafted jewelry as art and before he started shilling on QVC Both jewelers take inspiration from nature but Morris draws from a Teutonic heritage, whereas Jeffery Levin’s artistry shows influences from his South African and French-Egyptian heritage. His jewelry is simultaneously minimalist and sensual, as a result of the lost-wax casting method Levin uses. Levin also strives to be socially responsible, working in non-conflict diamonds and mostly reclaimed gold and silver. He renders dynamite mother-of-pearl rings and pendants right on trend with fall’s iridescent fashions, although his tribal-inspired ndu line would be well paired with military or sheer fashions. His pendant-focused lines can be worn individually or layered depending on your mood and budget with price tags going from $38 upward depending on material. Everything should be a top seller, including his understated rings.”

Thanks FashionEdits for the love!
